November 27 coding for fun [dirty stuff you'd never like to show anybody]A friend of me with whom I have periodical coding chats asked me if I have some application I wrote for fun and it's publicly accesible somewhere.
I'm in doubt. Hehe.. I've done some things. Some better some worse, but most of all If I coded for fun for last several years it has only educational purpose to learn technology not to show something which I could be proud of.
If I decided that technology, tool, idea is good it was usually later used in some commercial software, if not it remained on my hdd only.
Something realy for fun? Heh.. last time I think it was in 2002 when I coded something for DirectX 8. I made some tests and to check 2D capabilities of my dirty code I made my own Tetris.
Graphics was ugly, music made by me in a few minutes using Rebirth emulator and then.. to make it special I included multiplayer mode when if you clear the line some blocks in additional line will advance in your's oponent's basket.
Still fun..
If you want Feeble, you can check it there: http://www.discordia.pl/~hollow/trisVersus_v1.3.zip
But I warned you. It's nothing I'm proud of.
C++/DirectX 8 source code will be provided later upon your feedback HSDPA is a*s kickingI just updated my Globetrotter firmware to support HSDPA at my mobile connection.
I have to tell you that it's really ass kicking. My operator still hasn't officially released the service so maybe the stability will improve until 1st December 2006, but still if this is what they test right now - I'm in! :)
384Kb limit increased to 1.8Mbit - that's the answer itself.
rockin'! November 26 .NET 3.0 RTMI hope that you (who're developers) started playing with .NET Framework 3.0
If not check it out from below link:
I checked WPF and WWF mostly in last months from some betas and other pre-releases. Actually it's RTM and it's unbelievably worth checking.
Some time ago I wrote some small engine which uses xml files and form definition stored there with some basic scripting to use for .NET database applications where I could define it's basic read/write functionality by additing external xml files only.
Well my focus then was to give me a tool where I can make some basic database related consoles rapidly. I didn't care much about graphical bounds. I rather used some standard biz related UI design approach you can see in various applications.
With WPF you can do what I've done already with extremally usefull additional tools like Microsoft Expression and lot more related to the UI experience with Xaml/WPF hardware accelerated possibilities.
Actually what I only need is to test the limit of my GPU in apps.
I believe that if people start being successful in this technology we should expect some major change in UI expectations of regular users who just'd like to purchase it. November 25 I'm back online at homeHa.. I'm reconnected at home. It should improove frequency of posts here also.
Bandwidth is shitty but at least I can make basic tasks outside the office also. :) |
